rewatched this on the train to and back from work and had a hard time not smiling at my phone like an idiot the whole time. i really appreciated ryan gosling's high pitched screaming and the general stupidity of everything.

Project Hail Mary (2026)

i can't even express how much i enjoyed this.... i obviously love the book, a hopeful space adventure + a first contact story is quite literally my jam, and the movie was a perfect adaptation of it all ! of course they had to cut a lot of the science stuff, but the heart of the story was all there, and the amazing (mostly practical !!!) visuals and soundtrack definitely made up for it. can't wait to rewatch this when it comes out on streaming....

Heated Rivalry (2025-)

gay hockey show i've grown quite fond of you.... started this out of curiosity before it fully exploded bc i'd been seeing the poster on my serializd homepage and i've been known to enjoy a good hockey au fic from time to time. i actually put it on thinking i'd get some netflix-romance-slop but i was so wrong!! i can only describe it as genuine and well-crafted ? and i couldn't help but be charmed by the main actors... lovely way to spend the last few fridays of the year, thank you canadian tax payers!

Weapons (2025)

really solid horror movie!! loved the dark fairytale elements and the surprisingly comedic moments. wished the characters had been fleshed out a bit more (especially justine), but i guess it's difficult to do with a multiple pov structure. (also my supernatural brainrot kept telling me that sam and dean would have solved this in two business days while also bickering about something stupid like sam having to get a haircut).

Superman (2025)

this was fun and sweet and sincere!! what if being kind was punk rock? well, my very good personal friend clark kent would know something about that... kinda want a daily planet tv show now.... smallville nostalgia ough.

We All Loved Each Other So Much (1974)

i don't think i've mentioned it anywhere on the site, so i'll use this review to come out as italian (no vabbè!!). i've actually watched an embarrassing small amount of italian movies and i'm trying to fix that. C'eravamo tanto amati is a perfect movie i think. bittersweet and funny and ironic. sooo italian but also universal. i watched it while waiting for a very delayed train after a storm, which only added to the neorealistic experience i have to say.

signs (2002)

there is something so intimate about loving a genre that you were terrified of as a child. aliens were my biggest fear for years, a strong emotion that morphed into deep fondness over time. this movie feels like it was made for me, to completely freak out child-me with the alien home invasion and to amuse present-me with its quirks and its sincerity. can't believe it took me so long to watch it!

also, everyone who hates this movie needs to calm down and eat some fruit or something !!

riddle of fire (2023)

three mischievous children embark on a woodland odyssey when their mother sends them on an errand.

best movie if you need a pick-me-up from the horrors. gorgeous colors… magical realism!! the children are so sweet and the soundtrack is perfect wowow instant favorite!

daredevil: born again (2025-)

matthew michael murdock on my screen in the year of our lord 2025......... we've never been so back!! if only i could send this to myself in 2018 when they cancelled the show (on my birthday no less!!), i would've been so happy and then i would've immediately fucking cried because they straight up kill foggy twelve minutes in the first episode dhsfgsd. first appearance after seven years and matt has already suffered more than jesus, oh how i've missed this...

mickey 17 (2025)

loved this!! capitalism-bashing, freaky and hopeful sci-fi fun + robert pattinson's silly haircut

it's been a few days and i'm still thinking about mickey and nasha's relationship, they are each other's constant!! nasha loves every version of mickey and each version of mickey is in love with her... this one was truly for the real yearners
